Dashing Through the Snow, To The Carriage House We Go!

November 28, 2018

It’s the most wonderful time of the year in New Hope! Charming homes around town have decked their halls with décor, lights, and swag. Shoppers are scavenging small shops to find the perfect gifts. Family and friends gather to share the spirit of the season. There’s still much to do in 2018 and 2019 is just around the corner! Check out our top holiday picks for this year and next, then plan your stay at The Carriage House of New Hope.

Gather up the family, put on your PJ’s, and take a train ride though beautiful Bucks County! Up until December 31st, the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad will be toting around travelers with hot chocolate, freshly baked cookies, and live Christmas carols. On Santa’s Steam Spectacular, tell jolly old Saint Nick your Christmas wishes. For a trip back in time, ride the North Pole Express, pulled by a vintage diesel locomotive.

The holidays are not complete without a trip to Peddler’s Village! Stop by the Christmas Festival & Gingerbread House Competition before January 1st to view imaginative gingerbread houses like you’ve never seen before. There are ample stores to check off those last minute items on your shopping list and plenty of dining options too. After dark, pick up some warm apple cider before strolling along the stretch of glowing lights.

Ebenezer Scrooge’s Big Playhouse Christmas Show at the Bucks County Playhouse is back and better than ever! From December 7th to December 30th, audiences of all ages will enjoy this fast, funny and highly theatrical twist on a classic holiday story. Prepare to be petrified by the terrible Ebenezer Scrooge as he rediscovers the Spirit of Christmas in New Hope during this hilarious Dicken’s tale. A show at the playhouse may just become an annual tradition.

On December 9th and 25th, watch George Washington and his troops cross the treacherous Delaware River! The Annual Crossing Reenactments will occur at Washington’s Crossing Historic Park at 1:00 pm. After the main event, explore the park, which will be decorated with period decor, including candles, trees, and wreaths.

Celebrate the close of 2018 and ring in the New Year with live music and craft brews at Triumph Brewery on December 31st in New Hope. Start off 2019 with champagne, party hats, and noise makers. Guests must be 21 and older, reserve your tickets now.

Comedy Cabaret will be roaring with laughter on New Years Eve with their Super Powered Double Headliner Comedy Event atop Poco’s Restaurant & Bar in Doylestown. Mr. Jay Black, a former English Teacher featured on radio stations, Comcast Comedy, and Showtime is a headliner of this event. Co-headlining is Helene Angley, seen on NYC TV and a two time ‘Comedy Competition Champion’. Split your sides laughing with the Funny Egyptian comic Fady and your Host Troy Moore.

Make your reservations, jump in the sleigh, and head over to The Carriage House. If you’re still struggling to find the perfect gift, perhaps a getaway at The Carriage House of New Hope is exactly what you’ve been searching for. Gift certificates are available now.
