This Month in New Hope: Mother's Day, Pride Week, and More!

Spring has officially sprung in New Hope, which means our streets will once again be bustling with shoppers, downtown sidewalks overflowing with unique merchandise, and folks dining under the night sky right next to the picturesque Delaware River. Buckle up, because it’s going to be a busy, fun-filled month in New Hope. Just this past weekend, our neighbors in Lambertville hosted Shad Fest, an annual celebration hosted by residents to highlight the local art scene.

Sunday, May 14 is Mother’s Day, and New Hope is the perfect place to take Mom where she'll be treated like the Queen she is. While there's no shortage of brunch specials in town, Lambertville Station’s award-winning Sunday Champagne Brunch Buffet offers a royal feast and remarkable views of the Delaware River. After brunch, pamper Mom at Nurture Spa, where she can slip into instant relaxation mode. Finish off the day with a shopping spree at Angel Hearts- a beautiful fashion boutique right in downtown New Hope where you’ll find hand-picked designer apparel, handbags, jewelry, and more!

Kicking off that same day will be New Hope’s annual Pride Week, hosted by residents from May 14-21. This celebration of New Hope and Lambertville’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender friends and neighbors features week-long festivities with live entertainment, restaurant promotions, comedy, and more. The week kicks off with the unrolling of the four-mile rainbow flag, and continues through Sunday with the most-anticipated Pride Parade taking place at 11:30am on Saturday, May 20.

A few other events taking place during Pride Week include a Pride Pig Out, LGBT History Exhibit, “CLUE” The Musical at Bucks County Playhouse, and a Wet-N-Wild Pride Pool Party on Sunday. It’s sure to be a fun week!

To close out the month, New Hope and Lambertville will be celebrating Memorial Day Weekend in style. Visitors can catch a tour at one of the local wineries, like the New Hope Winery, which often offers live music on the weekends. Or, consider taking a walk along the canal path, where you can enjoy a scenic view of the Delaware River. Rice’s Market is also now open on Tuesdays and Saturdays through December from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The market is a 30-acre outdoor market with a wide variety of merchandise like antiques and collectibles, fresh fruits and veggies, clothing, jewelry, handbags, and more.

There’s so much happening in New Hope in the next few weeks that you won’t want to miss out on. While you’re here, treat yourself to a stay in New Hope’s newest luxury accommodations. The Carriage House, which has been upgraded to a modern boutique hotel right in the heart of downtown New Hope, features amenities like custom king-sized beds, spa-like bathrooms with robes and slippers, and balconies with stunning river views.
