Conquer Your Summer Bucket List
It’s official, summer is here and it is time to vacation! The weather is warmer, the days are longer, and there are tons of things to do. At the Carriage House of New Hope, we have compiled a list of can’t miss events happening in Bucks County this July and August. With all the fireworks, festivals, and fairs, plan your trip now so you don’t miss a moment of excitement.
Delaware River Towns Fireworks
On Friday, July 6th and August 3rd, the Delaware River Towns Chamber of Commerce will be lighting up the sky with fireworks. The Delaware River will become the backdrop for an explosion of light and color. At dusk head to the Carriage House for a front row seat to the firework display. Sink into our lavish outdoor sofa and take in the gorgeous view.
Fonthill's Old Fashioned 4th of July
The Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle are having family fun, food, games, crafts, and live entertainment for Independence Day. On the 4th of July from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, enjoy a parade, patriotic music, and summertime treats in Doylestown. Take a self guided tour of Fonthill Castle, the home of the American archaeologist and tile maker Henry Chapman Mercer. Afterwards, check out some of the charming nearby shops or delectable eateries.
Festivals at Peddler's Village
Peddler's Village will be having festivals all summer long. On Saturday, July 14, and Sunday, July 15 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm taste blueberries grown by local farmers at the Bluegrass & Blueberries Festival. Vendors will have treats featuring blueberries as the star ingredient and American Bluegrass musicians will be performing throughout the festival.
On Friday, August 11th shop till you drop at the Peddler's Village Summer Sidewalk Sale. Then try fresh and juicy peaches at the Peach Festival on Saturday, August 11, and Sunday, August 12 from 10:00 am- 6:00 pm.
New Hope Automobile Show
For over 60 years, antique car collectors have gathered at the New Hope Auto Show. Go to the New Hope-Solebury High School on Saturday, August 11 at 10:00 am for the Vintage Road Rally, where vintage automobiles will take a morning drive through the country. See antique and classic cars on August 12 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Auto Show Sunday. Vendors will be offering financial services, auto sales, parts, service and restoration options for car enthusiasts.
Middletown Grange Fair
The Middletown Grange Fair returns to Wrightstown for its 70th anniversary from Wednesday, August 15th to Sunday, August 19th. There will be activities for the kids, animal shows, exhibits, games and more. Entertainment includes a talent show, various bands, and of course carnival rides! Hours vary, check their website for the full schedule of events and additional details.
